Client: Associazione Culturale Circolo della Pipa
Location: Rome, Italy
Area: –
Year: 2007
Program: restoration and reuse of the “Casina del Curato”
Tasks: Concept Design, Detailed Design, Technical Design, Construction Supervision

The aim of the project was to carry out the double “conservative” and “revealing” mission of the restoration work, in order to protect, preserve and transmit to the future, in the best possible conditions, the testimonies of the past, respecting the authenticity of the monument and the “historical” character of the decorated surfaces.
The work carried out ensured the defense of the structures from atmospheric agents and returned the original colors (grouting, consolidation of the ancient plaster, partial plaster rework, any plaster protection, etc.) without losing the sense of the ancient of the surfaces themselves.
The restoration consisted in the elimination of the pathological effects of decay that occurred over time and was divided into two distinct phases: the first consisted of the restoration of the roof covering, the jetties and the damaged stone and brick cornices; the second consisted in the restoration of the plastered surfaces, some decorated with graffiti while others not.
