The Grand Hotel Duca d’Este, built in the early 1990s, is located in Bagni di Tivoli, near the Acque Albule thermal baths, in an area also renowned for the ancient quarries of travertine, particularly compact and warm in color. The building is therefore characterized by the combination of this classic stone with glazed facades of different geometry. The vertical bow windows that illuminate the rooms and the horizontal curved glass windows have a hidden casing, so as to form continuous reflective large volumes, framed by aluminum sheet frames painted in a color that recalls the thermal waters.
The interiors, both the common areas and the rooms and congress center, are characterized by the use of high quality materials with a strong aesthetic impact, such as marble, granite, wood and stucco. In particular, the approximately 200 rooms and suites have been carefully designed both in terms of color combinations between carpets, fabrics and boiseries, and in terms of furnishings, with the use of custom-made furniture.
