Mudanya is a town and district of Bursa Province in the Marmara region of Turkey. It is located on the Gulf of Gemlik, part of the southern coast of the Sea of Marmara. The coast is characterized by a dense urban fabric, and discontinuous green corridors. The project aims to mend the urban fabric reconnecting the city to the waterfront through a newly designed continuous landscaped area. The architectural design aims to create dynamic spaces, reinterpreting the traditional alley and then evoking a genuine sense of curiosity, pleasure and surprise. The buildings shapes and roofings create evocative views toward the sea, recalling an urban landscape. The project takes also into account the view of the harbor from above, focusing on the design of the roofings: traditional scale shingle roofs are reinterpreted in a fish scale 5th façade, recalling the marine environment.
