Born in Rome in 1965, Fabrizio Capolei obtained an architecture degree at La Sapienza University in Rome in 1990. From 1989 to 1991 he collaborated with the studio MBA (Marcel Breuer Associates) in Paris, before starting his professional career in studio 3C+t Capolei Cavalli Architetti Associati, where he also participated in public tenders and international competitions in collaboration with renowned design studios (Studio Nicoletti Associati, PEI Architects, ARUP, Studio Valle, RMJM).

He started teaching at the Training School for EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment) experts, a position he held for various institutions, always as an expert in the sector. He then took on the role of assistant professor at the Department of Architectural Composition at La Sapienza University in Rome, headed by architect Sergio Petruccioli; this collaboration has extended over the years to workshops and lectures aimed at enriching the course.

He has a documented experience in Project Management, design coordination and management of the various phases of the design and construction of complex projects.

He has supervised national and international competitions for the studio, winning numerous: first prize for the project for the restoration and transformation of the industrial port of Cornasola in Lovere, 1998, completed; first prize for the environmental recovery project for the coastal area of ​​the Marina di Torre Astura, 1998, completed; first prize in the competition for the extension of the monumental cemetery of Bari Palese, 2004, completed; first prize in the international competition for the redevelopment of the monumental area of ​​the Port of Naples, 2005, under construction; first prize in the competition for the Rende Water Park, 2011, completed.

The projects he has supervised have received numerous international awards, including, in 2003, the Metra Award – XI “Sistema d’Autore” International Competition for the Anderloni Acque Albule Complex; in 2008 the “Amate l’architettura” award for the headquarters of the Civitavecchia Maritime Border Police; in 2020 the IN/Arch – ANCE special prize, for the Lazio region, in the building redevelopment category for Stamperie 152.
